The Bloody Finger, from "Stompland"
The Bloody Finger is a high gain overdrive-based distortion effect. It is featured in the "Stompland" video, and is built by Dave Harrington and his company (Guitar Tone Company or "GTC") in NY. The version that Billy uses is an earlier one, before the production version "The Super 72" was released. Increased interest in GTC occurred after Billy was seen using the pedal, and Dave has since released a version of this pedal named after Billy's as the "Bloody Finger". The Super 72 and The Bloody Finger are the exact same circuit according to the GTC website.
Used in "Song For A Son", the original prototype of this pedal had a razorblade glued to the top, and that is why Billy dubbed it "The Bloody Finger"
This pedal is also seen on his pedalboard in Premier Guitar's "Rig Rundown" video of his gear from the Oceania tour.
Featured in a video of Billy's huge collection of guitar pedals called Stompland. Billy calls it the "best lead pedal I've ever had".
