Rocksmith is a Guitar Hero-type video game, with the key difference being that instead of a plastic controller with a few buttons, you plug in a real guitar (or bass) and actually play the songs for real. The game's 2nd release, Rocksmith 2014, includes The Chimera. Additionally, Cherub Rock was available at launch as DLC (downloadable content), and included free with pre-orders. One week after launch, an additional 5-song pack of SP songs was made available as DLC, including more singles from Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie.
Game available for PS3, PC/Mac, and XBox 360. No-cable version available for owners of the previous Rocksmith game (saves $20). With-cable version also available as Epiphone guitar bundle.
PC/Mac no-cable version available by download only.
