Sabian was formed in 1981 as a rival company by one of the Zildjian brothers after a family dispute- the two companies are among the most famous cymbal manufacturers.

One of Jimmy's Sabian cymbal sets has consisted of:

- 19" AA medium-thin crash
- 8" AA Rocktagon
- 20" AA Chinese
- 14" AA regular high hats
- 18" AA medium-then crash
- 8" AA splash
- 16" AAX Stage crash
- 13" AA Fusion hi-hats (mounted)
- 21" Ed Shaughnessy ride
- 20" medium ride (with rivets)
- 18" AAX Stage crash
- 22" Fast Chinese (with rivets)
- 20" AA Chinese (with rivets)


Back in 1992, Jimmy used the following cymbals (all Sabian as well):

- 14" HH hi-hats
- 19" AAX Metal Crash
- 18" Chinese
- 12" AAX Metal splash
- 18" AAX Metal crash
- 16" AAX Metal crash
- 13" Fushion hi-hat (on remote)
- 22" AA medium ride
- 20" Chinese
