The second electric bass model by Leo Fender, the Jazz Bass has a brighter, richer tone in the midrange and treble than the Precision Bass, with less emphasis on the fundamental harmonic, thus pushing the sound more "forward" in the mix.

Mentioned by @Billy in a tweet on 2011/06/18 about the main basses used on Oceania.

Nicole used 2 Jazz basses on the 2011 "The Other Side of the Kaleidyscope" tour: one white, for song in E-flat tuning, and one blue-grey, equipped with a Hipshot Bass Xtender for switching between standard and drop-D tuning (both had tortoise-shell pickguards).
