Jeff Schroeder

Wikipedia article | Instagram

Jeff Schroeder, born Feb. 4, 1974, was the new guitarist when the Pumpkins re-formed in 2007, filling James Iha's former position. A Korean American, Jeff is a comparative literature PhD student at UCLA. He was a founding member & songwriter of Southern California shoegaze-pop band The Lassie Foundation, as well as the side-project band The Beat Concerto, and has collaborated with The Violet Burning. His technical skills with the guitar mean that Jeff takes up some of the solos, or joins Billy for double-solos, on some post-2000 TSP songs, and has earned him the nickname "Shredder" from Billy.

After Ginger, Lisa, and Jimmy all left the band in 2009-10, Jeff remained the only member besides Billy who'd been in the band since the 2007 reunion/re-formation, until he announced his departure on October 24, 2023, "to make some space to explore a slightly different path."
